House Builder Bids Fond Farewell To Residents At Sold Out Huntingdon Development

Having sold all 180 homes at its popular Saxon Gardens development in Huntingdon, Linden Homes Midlands is bidding a fond farewell to its residents.

Launched less than two years ago, the development has been one of the most successful for the Peterborough-based developer both in terms of the rate of sales, and also the number of customers using the Help to Buy scheme.

Its location on a commutable route by train or the Guided Busway to Cambridge and the surrounding areas, as well as being close to Huntingdonshire Regional College, has attracted many first time buyers and young professionals to set up home at Saxon Gardens.

In fact, 60 per cent of the homes have been sold using Help to Buy (one of the most successful uses of the scheme in the Midlands region), and 60 per cent of purchasers are first-time buyers.

While the sales and marketing suite is now closed, work is continuing at the development –where the remaining houses are due to be completed and occupied later this summer.

Linden Homes Midlands’ sales director Clare Phillips said: “When we move off any development, there is always a sense of pride tinged with a little sadness. During the 22 months here at Saxon Gardens, our sales team has met some wonderful people who they have followed and assisted on their journey towards achieving a new home – for many, their first experience of property buying.

“We are obviously thrilled with the success of Saxon Gardens, which was chosen recently to be visited by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Greg Clark.
