Finishing Touches Catch Builder's House-hunting Eye At Connect
11 Sep 2012

It was the finishing touches and sense of tradition that caught the eye of builder Iain Rowledge when he first looked around Connect at Haywards Heath.

Iain, a contracts manager and former carpenter who is looking forward to moving there from Epsom, was initially looking around Horsham for a two-bedroom house with a garage but was recommended by estate agents to view the stunning development – and is glad he did.

“I got more than I thought I was going to get,” said Iain (48). “The homes are new-build but they seem to be traditionally built and not just all timber-framed – there are nice little additions that are there as well, like a nice little wall at the front and a porch.

“It’s the little idiosyncrasies like that that are better and set them apart from the other housebuilders that have the throw-them-up attitude. It’s nice that there are builders still around that are doing things traditionally.

“Carpets were included and a fitted kitchen, and I could personalise my home. I work long hours but I initially wanted something I could do up and make my own. This way I could have a new home and still make it somewhere individual.”

The houses and apartments at Connect come in a varied range to suit everyone with a blend of modern and traditional. Housebuilder of the Year Linden Homes also includes carpets, and enviable financial incentives.

Just 36 miles south of London and 15 miles north of Brighton, Haywards Heath is ideal for commuting with good motorway access and a mainline railway station from where it takes just over an hour to get to London and about 20 minutes to Brighton.

Staying closer to home is just as enjoyable, however, as the town boasts shops and restaurants galore to suit a range of tastes, from cosy pubs to trendy bars, and a great selection of high street stores.

Iain added: “It’s a nice area, and I’ve got friends around Horsham. I’m sacrificing a worse journey to work but enjoying a nicer area. I can walk into Haywards Heath and there are lots of other people moving in – it will be nice meeting the community.”

To make buying even easier Linden Homes is offering Deposit Assist on selected properties to enable buyers to borrow up to 15% of the purchase price as an unsecured loan to add to their deposit.
