Play Time Begins At Opening Of Linden Homes' New Activity Area

Excited youngsters marked the opening of a brand new play area in Uckfield created by Linden Homes Guildford with an adventure afternoon.

The equipment was installed as part of the 230 homes under construction at the Fernley Park development.

A crowd of children and their parents gathered to witness its launch and be among the first to test out the facilities. They had fun getting to know the layout as they searched high and low for chocolate treats hidden by Linden Homes’ employees.

The site includes a zip-wire, slides down grassy banks, a wooden sculpture, play animals, sandpit, a rope bridge and climbing frame. It was located to be overlooked by homes so youngsters can safely run about under the eyes of grown-ups.

There to welcome residents to the play area were Linden Homes’ site manager Steve Green who joined in the fun with some of his colleagues trying out the activities.

Steve said: “From the faces of the children it was plain to see how much they enjoyed their new play area, and it was a real pleasure to be there to hand it over personally to them and their parents.

“The equipment will be central to this new neighbourhood and become a place where youngsters – and their parents too – will make new friends and have lots of fun.

“Linden Homes is not just about building houses – we are about leading the way in building communities too and projects like this show how determined we are to achieve this at every step of the development.”

Only a few properties are left unsold at Fernley Park which, with its scenic views, rivers, woodlands and the friendly town of Uckfield on the doorstep, is an ideal location for couples and families to enjoy the town and country lifestyles.
