Linden Homes has just released its first homes at the eagerly awaited new Sherford development in the South Hams.
The company is creating the new country town of Sherford, along with fellow consortium partners, which has community and sustainability at its heart. The new town will incorporate high quality, classically designed homes with a host of amenities, including schools, a leisure centre, a town hall, shops, plus woodland and wildlife habitats.
The launch of the homes is a landmark stage in the construction of Sherford, which will see 570 properties built in the first phase. Speaking about the launch, Brian Deacon, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes, said: “This is an incredibly exciting time and a real milestone in the town’s history, as it’s been years in the planning. Homebuyers can now view the plans, collect a brochure and even reserve a new home.”
The first release comprises one and two bedroom apartments, three bedroom coach houses and homes plus four bedroom houses.
Brian added: “The first properties are due to be completed this spring but we decided to launch early to enable homebuyers to personalise their homes and select their own kitchen; it’s a wonderful journey being able to see your home being built.”
One of the homes just released is home three, the stylish three bedroom Churchstow housetype. The grand three storey, end terrace home features a garage and parking. The property includes a stunning open plan kitchen and family/dining area with double doors opening out to the garden and there is also a downstairs toilet. Upstairs there is an attractive living room with space for a log burner and a bedroom; a spacious master bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a third bedroom and a family bathroom complete the second floor.
Nestled in the South Hams, with easy access into Plymouth, Sherford has been sensitively designed to complement its surroundings. The Sherford Consortium has worked with some of the UK’s finest architects, designers and craftsmen, and on its completion a total of 5,500 homes will be available at Sherford, with 20 per cent of these dedicated to affordable housing.
