Lovedean Primary School Pupils Set To Achieve Their Five A Day Thanks To Donation From Linden Homes
12 Dec 2018

Pupils at Woodcroft Primary School in the quaint village of Lovedean, near Waterlooville, are looking forward to getting their gardening gloves on to grow their own vegetables, thanks to a donation from Linden Homes.

Each class will be able to sew, grow and nurture their own plants and vegetables when a new allotment area within the school grounds is ready. The school has decided to
develop its grounds using the £500 donation from Linden Homes, to help the children better understand where their food comes from.

Mr Barry Fanning, Headteacher at Woodcroft Primary School, said: ‘We are most grateful to Linden Homes for this donation, the children are really looking forward to having a brand-new space to enjoy and learn.

“It’s a great opportunity to introduce the children to growing your own food and will provide learning, entertainment and most importantly tasty vegetables to enjoy! Our site manager and head teacher are busy designing the brand-new allotment garden area and we can’t wait to unveil it to the children!”

The donation from Linden Homes comes as the award-winning housebuilder launches Catherington Park – a new homes development in the heart of Waterlooville. Catherington Park is stunning collection of two, three and four-bedroom houses, offering sleek contemporary design and spacious living accommodation.

Jo Dixon, marketing manager for Linden Homes South, said: “We are delighted to have provided Woodcroft Primary School with the funds to create a new allotment within the school grounds. Obesity is an ongoing concern with our children so it’s key to educate them early so they can understand where our food comes from and the benefits of a healthy balanced diet.”

Catherington Park is nestled in the delightful and peaceful village of Lovedean. The quaint village sits in the East of Hampshire and boasts plenty of history and beauty. Living at Catherington Park will provide you with the convenience of everything you need for a modern life close at hand. Local shops, takeaways and a pub, an idyllic countryside of Hampshire and the South Downs National Park are within walking distance.

In addition to this, Lovedean is perfectly placed for commuters with Portsmouth only 15 minutes’ drive away (via the A3), straightforward routes to Southampton and direct links to London Waterloo from Rowlands Castle train station.
