YORK house hunters Claire Dudley and Huw Faircliffe got more than they bargained for when they reserved their new home from plan at Linden Homes’ 1877 development.
The couple are among several customers to have already picked their preferred plot off plan at new Ouseacres development, even before the first homes are ready.
Named in tribute to the building of what in its heyday was the largest railway station in the world, 1877 received its official unveiling last weekend – and part of the themed celebrations was the chance to win a trip on the famous Northern Belle.
Visitors to the development, and listeners of Minster FM, were invited to enter the competition to win a luxury trip for two on the 1930s-styled Northern Belle – travelling through some of Britain’s most beautiful scenery while enjoying fine wine and food aboard.
Claire and Huw entered the free prize draw and say they are thrilled to have been picked from the hat. “We are absolutely delighted,” said Claire. “What a treat – on top of reserving a wonderful new home on such a fabulous development.”
