Just under 2 miles from the centre of Enfield, close to some great road and rail links, and plenty of green open space just moments away. These are just some of the benefits you’ll find about living at Locksley Place. As well as these highlights, you’ll also find a good choice of everyday amenities close by, and a number of schools for all ages too. What’s in Enfield?

  • Great amenities just a short distance away
  • Plenty of choice for schools

Enfield town centre is just under 2 miles from Locksley Place, and offers a wide range of convenient amenities. There is a good range of shops and services along Church Street, including well-known retailers, banks and a post office. You’ll also find a good number of restaurants, coffee shops, bars and pubs within the town centre, so stopping for something to eat and drink is easy. Just away from the high street is the Palace Shopping Centre. Made up of two shopping areas - Palace Exchange and Palace Gardens - here is where you’ll find a greater number of high street stores and services, including fashions, jewellery, bookshops, cafes and supermarkets. Away from the shops, there is a multiplex cinema, gym and several large chain restaurants just a short distance from the town centre, meaning if fitness or socialising is your interest, you’ll find it all here.

Those with families searching for new homes in Enfield will be impressed with the number of schools close to home. For younger children, there are three Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ primary schools for girls and boys; Lavender Primary School is 2 miles away; George Spicer Primary School under 3 miles and Bush Hill Park Primary School just over 3 miles. Older students will find two Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ secondary schools close to home; Enfield County Upper School is approximately 2 miles away, with Highlands School around 3 miles away. There are also independent schooling options in Enfield, with Enfield Grammar School - for boys aged 11-19 - just over 2 miles away, and Vita et Pax Preparatory School - co-educational day school for ages 3-11 years - around 4 miles away.

What will I find close to Enfield?

  • A number of parks, including River Lee Country Park
  • Good road and rail links, ideal for commuters

Despite Enfield’s proximity to central London, it has a large number of parks offering plenty of green, open space. Within a 5 mile radius of the development is Hilly Fields Park, Whitewebbs Park, Trent Park - which also has a Go Ape outdoor adventure area - and Forty Hall Country Park. Each one is a great place to spend time relaxing with family and friends, and you’ll find walking trails, wildlife and wooded areas to explore. Forty Hall Country Park, which is just over 3 miles away from home, is where you’ll find all this and more, including beautiful landscaped gardens, exhibitions throughout the year and plenty of history. There is also an organic farm within the estate and the Nice Green Café for a short break with a drink and a snack. Around 10 miles from Locksley Place is the popular River Lee Country Park. Covering around 1,000 acres between Waltham Abbey and Broxbourne, this is an ideal place for all family types to visit to experience simple waterside walks, or to take part in more physical activities including cycling, disc golf and canoeing. There are also artworks and sculptures to view throughout the park and, with plenty of heritage to discover and learn about, there really is something for everyone here.

Property for sale in Enfield is close to some great road and rail links. The M25, M1, M11 and A10 are all easily accessible from Locksley Place, allowing for simple journeys to St Albans (14 miles), the centre of London (approximately 15 miles, via the A10), Watford (20 miles), Harlow (also 20 miles) and Luton (around 27 miles). These major roads also have simple connections to a number of ‘A’ roads, including the A12, A127 and A13. For rail travel, Locksley Place benefits from Gordon Hill train station being less than half a mile from home, with regular and direct services to Hertford North (15 minutes), Moorgate (36 minutes) and Letchworth Garden City (40 minutes).

What will I find beyond Enfield?

  • History and culture in the roman City of St Albans
  • Great shopping and entertainment options in and around Stratford

St Albans is bustling city just around 30 minutes’ drive from Locksley place offering a twice-weekly market in the pretty town square as well as many High Street stores, boutiques, plenty of restaurants and pubs for a spot of lunch of night out with friends. The City may be best known for its impressive medieval cathedral – the oldest site of continuous Christian worship in the country – and its important Roman remains, but it also has a thriving contemporary arts and theatre scene, and is the gateway to easily accessible countryside, woodland walks and nearby picturesque villages. The 100-acre historical Verulamium Park draws people from afar with its ornamental boating lake, playground, leisure activities, café and much more.

Just over 40 minutes by car or an hour by public transport from Locksley Place is Westfield Stratford City and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Westfield is one of the most popular shopping centres in London, and offers more than 350 stores and services over five levels. Shoppers will find it ideal for a day out, with a vast range of high street, designer and independent retailers to choose from, including department stores and supermarkets. Many visitors stay for something to eat and drink after a days’ shopping; with more than 83 restaurants, cafes and bars to choose from it’s easy to find something for everyone and every budget. And for something away from the shops, there is plenty of entertainment available, with a multi-screen cinema and a luxury bowling venue, complete with American restaurant and cocktail bar.

Close to Westfield is the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Built for the 2012 Olympics, the park is home to the Olympic Stadium, the London Aquatics Centre, the Copper Box Arena, Lee Valley VeloPark and the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre. The Park is open and free to visit seven days a week, and these venues and the park itself offer a wide range of activities and attractions for all the family. There are parklands, waterways and playgrounds here too, as well as a café for when you want a break with something to eat and drink. For those who are more adventurous, you can ‘Ride The Slide’ at the ArcelorMittal Orbit. Standing 178m tall, it offers spectacular views of the city’s skyline, and is the world’s tallest and longest tunnel slide. It’s not for the faint hearted; it takes just 40 seconds for brave sliders to get from the top to the bottom.
