12 lucky children from St Vincent’s Primary School in Mill Hill have been given the opportunity to see their original drawings featured in an exclusive calendar. The children were given the theme of ‘favourite places in Mill Hill’ by Linden Homes and fought off fellow class mates for a place in the school calendar.
The junior year groups from St Vincent’s took part in the competition, being set the task to explore their neighbourhood and draw their favourite place in Mill Hill. The judges at Linden Homes then had the pleasure of reviewing all the very unique entries.
Simon Pendlebury, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes’ Chiltern said: “We were in a great position to be able to choose from some lovely, creative artwork sent in from the children. All of the entries were very colourful and quite impressive so it was a tough job to pick the winners, but we had great fun doing so and think a great calendar has been created for the school to enjoy.”
A drawing was selected for each month of the year to create an annual calendar with each of the 12 winners receiving their very own copy of the calendar.
The school also received 200 copies of the calendar from Linden Homes to be sold to parents and friends with all proceeds going back to the school. Vicky Avraam, Art teacher at St Vincent’s commented: “The children really got stuck into their drawings and it was fantastic to see so many lovely pieces being entered in to the competition. The winners are thrilled and really excited to be featured in the calendar.”
