A youth football team from Huntingdon have secured a new kit sponsor for the 2020–21 season.
The Huntingdon Town Rowdies Under-12 Whites are playing with both Linden Homes and Bovis Homes, part of the Vistry Group, on their shirts after the housebuilding company contributed £500 towards new shirts and jackets for the squad.
Some of the money is also being used to put on winter training sessions for the team, who play at Jubilee Park, off Kings Ripton Road.
Vistry Group, which was formed in January this year, is made up of Linden Homes, Bovis Homes and Vistry Partnerships. Linden Homes is currently building at the Brampton Park development on the former RAF Brampton site in the village.
Alan Holman, Manager of Huntingdon Town Rowdies Under-12 Whites, who play in the Hunts Youth Under-12s 'A' League, said: “We’ve been training hard to ensure we’re in a great position for the new season and the new kits and jackets have added to the excitement.
“The boys and the local community have been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic, but the Vistry Group have really stepped up to the mark to provide a lot of happiness and joy to 14 young boys by supporting us extensively this season with shirts, jackets and with vital funds to assist with our winter training programme.
“It’s been a difficult year for everyone, especially the children who have missed their friends. Not being able to play the game they love has been difficult for them to process, but thanks to the Vistry Group we are looking to put all this behind us and get the boys out doing what they love”.
The Huntingdon Town Rowdies Under-12 Whites have had an exceptional start to the season so far, scoring 32 goals in seven games.

Linden Homes is currently building 219 new houses over two phases at Brampton Park, off Central Avenue. A selection of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes are currently available to purchase.
Work has started on phase two at Brampton Park, where a new showhome has recently opened its doors and is available to view for appointment-only viewings.
Brampton Park remains open for business on-site, but Linden Homes is also offering online meetings to its customers in addition to its on-site safety measures which remain in place to ensure everybody who visits the development remains safe at all times.
