Young readers in Driffield are reaping the benefits from a donation by Linden Homes East Yorkshire that has boosted the book offering in their school library – just in time for World Book Day!
The donation to Driffield Junior School has helped to provide pupils with a greater choice of reading material to support national curriculum guidelines. The new storybooks and information books will be enjoyed all year groups across the school.
Driffield Junior School head teacher Linda Laird said: “This is a wonderful gesture by Linden Homes East Yorkshire and the books have already been gratefully received by children and staff alike.
“The donation has enabled us to buy a selection of books for classrooms to support our work to promote a love of reading for our pupils aged seven to 11.”
Linden Homes East Yorkshire sales manager Julie Hubbard, said: “We are very pleased to be able to give this donation to Driffield Junior School and hope that the children will enjoy their new books.
“As we have a new homes development at Spellowgate in Driffield, which is very family-friendly, it is a great way for us to give something back to the community.”
