Moving house can be a long and stressful experience, but not for one couple who took advantage of Linden Homes’ Part Exchange scheme and relocated to Bath to be nearer to their children and grandchildren.

Mr and Mrs Robinson moved to Ensleigh in Lansdown from Sunderland in the North East. Noreen, a retired headteacher, and her husband Philip, a retired assistant headteacher, bought a three bedroom home at the end of October and moved eight weeks later, in time for Christmas.

The couple have a son who lives in London and a daughter who recently moved to Bath with her husband and young family – Henry, four and Martha, three months. Speaking about their move, Noreen said: “Our daughter used to live in London and spent many weekends visiting Bath before they relocated here. “Having previously lived in a large four bedroom house, we decided to look for a brand new property now that we’ve retired and our old house was valued by a local estate agent that we knew. We didn’t want to worry about maintenance – fixing the roof or having to replace an old boiler – we wanted to relax and downsize.

“We visited Ensleigh and fell in love with a property that ticked every box on our wish list: it’s near our grandchildren, has three bedrooms, a garden, an en-suite, a garage, a good-sized living room with doors that open out to the garden and an open plan kitchen.
