The Bamforth Collection has been built on what used to be two separate plots of land.
At one time each of these was home to a very large family house and their gardens lay back to back with a fence, shrubs and trees running along the border.
The first of the properties was 210 Bassett Green Road. This generous family home was set in around 0.7 acres and had a swimming pool, a kitchen garden and several outbuildings. The front of the house was very effectively screened from the road by a beautiful mature hedge.
At the end of the garden at 210 Bassett Green Road, the land was adjoined to the garden of the neighbouring house ‘Grays’.
Grays, a large, tile hung family home set in just over half an acre of garden, was built on the quiet cul de sac known as The Spinney, which comes off the Avenue. The garden at Grays had lots of mature trees around its perimeter, giving it a very private feel.
A few years ago both plots of land were sold to a single buyer, and in August 2010 planning permission was granted to allow three 6 bedroom homes to be built at 210 Bassett Green Road: At around the same time neighbouring Grays, on The Spinney, was granted permission for two 6 bedroom homes.
Linden Homes eventually purchased this parcel of land and, with the planning permission already in place, proceeded to start work to build five new 6 bedroom homes known as The Bamforth Collection.
Three of these houses are on the 210 Bassett Green plot with the drive way coming off Bassett Green Road, the other two houses are on the Grays’ plot and are reached via the Spinney.
