Thaxted Homes Scooped For A Fraction Of City Prices
16 Jun 2017

Linden Homes Eastern’s Meadow Gardens is proving immensely popular with buyers thanks to its competitive costs and value for money homes, compared to large cities like London.

Since launching in January, the three, four and five bedroom houses at Meadow Gardens have been sought-after by a mix of first time buyers, young families and downsizers alike. Following the Easter show home opening, eight properties have been taken off the market, and even more have been reserved for significantly lower prices than a typical central London home.

The launch of the show home saw over 20 visitors to the new development, double the amount compared to the average footfall on-site. With just 19 homes left, house-hunters are encouraged to arrange a booking as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Meadow Gardens’ show home, The Becket, is priced at half the price of a typical central London property. Interested buyers can still receive a tour of the show home, and the opportunity to have any questions answered by the sales team.

Villages like Thaxted, where Meadow Gardens is based, are increasingly being invested in by commuters as well as local residents thanks to the sharp drop in house prices outside of the capital.

The homes at Meadow Gardens have the dual advantage of a village environment along with a straightforward commute to the capital, being only five and a half miles from Elsenham station where direct trains run to London Liverpool Street.

Renowned for its quirky features, including the oldest Church spire in the U.K, the restored, eye-catching Windmill and infamous Morris dancing tradition, Thaxted offers a peaceful alternative to the hectic buzz of a city.

Regional sales and marketing manager at Linden Homes Eastern, Roseanne Bullen, commented: “City workers are becoming ever savvier to London’s property market, now realising that they can get more for their money without adding time to their commute outside of London.

“In the past, village locations and suburbs have had a negative reputation for being too far “out in the sticks”, but Thaxted has all the amenities you could need as a homeowner, along with a Farmers Market that takes place every Friday.

“We’ve received interest from a real mix of purchasers: The Help to Buy scheme has encouraged first time buyers to invest, while the spacious layout and design of the larger properties is ideal for families. With 19 homes still available, we’d urge anyone interested to get in touch asap.”

In high demand, the Meadow Gardens houses can also be bought via Linden Homes’ Assisted Move or Part Exchange schemes.

Assisted Move is a Linden Homes initiative which offers buyers practical assistance when moving into their new home. As part of the initiative, Linden Homes promises to:
• Deal with the estate agents and pay all their fees, including arranging independent valuations
• Helps buyers get the best price for their old home
• Help appoint a solicitor and mortgage broker if required

For an even more hassle free move, buyers can also take advantage of Linden Homes Part Exchange scheme:
• Buyers choose their new home (current home must not be more than 70% of the value of the chosen home)
• Linden Homes instructs estate agents, agrees a value for the existing home and makes an offer
• If the buyer accepts, Linden Homes will market the current house, leaving the buyer free to move in when it’s ready
