Spinnaker Is Launched At Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
14 Feb 2020

Linden Homes has launched its stunning new Spinnaker development in Westbury thanks to help from the local community.

The Mayor of Westbury, together with representatives from West Wilts Youth Sailing Association and the Warminster and District Angling Club, met with Linden Homes and its joint venture partner, Wates Developments, to launch the beautiful new show home at Spinnaker in Westbury at an official ribbon cutting ceremony.

Located off Station Approach, Spinnaker has already seen the relocation of the West Wilts Youth Sailing Association to a larger site on the other side of the lake and will feature 300 new homes, when completed.

Sue Scholfield, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes, said: “Eden Vale lake is a wonderful asset and it’s fantastic that the Mayor of Westbury, along with representatives from the sailing association and the angling club officially launched the show home. We really couldn’t have done this without them and we’re very proud of the work achieved so far - it’s been a real collaboration.”

Chris Wheeler, chief instructor of West Wilts Youth Sailing Association, said “Thanks to Linden Homes who prepared our new site, with grants received from Sport England, the Landfill Community Fund, Westbury Town Council and Westbury Lions, plus fundraising done by our members to fund the clubhouse, we now have facilities – agreed by our membership – that are superior to those on our previous site. We plan to use them to encourage sailing in the community.

“As a charity we are always on the lookout for volunteers who would like to become instructors. For more information please contact the membership secretary @wwysa.co.uk or visit our website.”

The chair of Warminster and District Angling Club said: “We are very pleased to be part of the development of this excellent site and look forward to the ongoing enjoyment provided by the wonderful facilities.”

Susan Whiting, residential investment manager, from Wates Developments added: “We’re very pleased to see the development take shape and it represents a huge investment locally as we’re contributing £2million towards the provision of the new railway bridge and associated works that will link Station Road with Mane Way. It’s wonderful to all come together and celebrate this key milestone.”

The development is just a mile from the town centre, near local shops, schools and boasts excellent travel links, providing easy access to the mainline train station.

Sue added: “The design, coupled with the sailing lake, will mean Spinnaker is going to be a stunning development that’s hard to beat.” Spinnaker will feature an attractive collection of two, three and four bedroom well-designed homes, plus three bedroom homes with the part-rent-part-buy Home Reach scheme.

The show home and marketing suite are open daily from 10am to 5pm, off Station Approach, Westbury, Wiltshire, BA13 4HP, call 01373 441514
