Award-winning housebuilder Linden Homes is searching for the perfect pooch to star in an advertising campaign for its luxury Heath Wood development in the West Sussex village of Felbridge.
The Guildford-based company is challenging dog owners to enter their pet into a competition to find the most characterful canine – or huggable hound – to be the hero of promotional materials seen by thousands of househunters.
In the same animal-loving spirit, Linden Homes is also making a £200 donation to the local branch of the RSPCA.
Most of the animals at South Godstone RSPCA have been rescued from neglect and bad treatment by their previous owners. They will care for over 150 animals at any one time including dogs, cats, rabbits and other domestic animals.
The winning entry will be invited to star in a photoshoot at Heath Wood in December as the hero of Linden Homes’ advertising campaign for the development, such as in newspaper adverts and leaflets.
Linden Homes sales and marketing director Natalie Flint said: “We’ve designed these outstanding new homes with an authentic local flavour, so it makes perfect sense to get local people – and their much-loved dogs – involved in spreading the word.
“To animal lovers and their families, pets are an integral part of what makes a house a home. We’re looking for the dog that best fits that theme and deserves its moment in the spotlight too.

For the chance of seeing their dog become the furry face of the Heath Wood advertising campaign, owners should email a photograph and a 100-word biography about their pet to Topdog@lh-heathwood.co.uk.
Owners will have to be quick, however, as the deadline for entries is 5pm on Thursday December 11th. The photoshoot will be held during week commencing 15th December at Heath Wood, Felbridge.
