WITH woods and irons at the ready, Linden Homes fundraisers have been tee-ing off at the company’s annual Charity Golf Day.
The team - made up largely of Linden Homes directors, and staff from the company’s sub-contractors and suppliers – took to the fairway at Greetham Valley Golf Club.
The golf day, complete with raffle, added to the company’s fundraising efforts for Peterborough’s Sue Ryder Appeal – which is looking to raise £6 million to transform the city’s palliative care hospice.
Thorpe Hall Hospice regional fundraiser Alison Toomey was invited to the golf day presentation to accept a £4,000 cheque for the appeal from Linden Homes.
She said: “On behalf of the whole fundraising team, our huge thanks to Linden Homes for their support – we are immensely grateful to everyone involved for their efforts.”
So far this year, Linden Homes has staged a number of fundraising stunts for the appeal – including a company cricket match and Star Trek themed day at the Peterborough head office.
Linden Homes production manager Don Burley is the main organiser of the charity golf day. He said: “The event was another huge success and apart from an excellent day’s golfing – everyone taking part was delighted to help raise money for the Sue Ryder Appeal in Peterborough. Our thanks and congratulations to everyone.”
Linden Homes is currently building in Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.
