Mum And Daughter Share Office Life At Regional House Builder
21 Apr 2017

This month (April 27) sees National Bring Your Daughter To Work Day – a chance for students and young women to swap their place of study and join their parents in a working environment.

The experience can offer youngsters an insight into the world of work, find out just what their mums or dads do during a day at the office, and even gain vital experience and knowledge to harbour for the future.

However, at regional developer Linden Homes Midlands – every day is Bring Your Daughter to Work Day for sales progressor Tanya Fairbass!

Tanya, who has been working in the sales department at the Peterborough head office since 2015, joined the company six months after her daughter Amber took up a post as production administrator.

She said: “Amber saw the job vacancy advertised online and began her new job at the same time as she moved out of our family home.

“She had no idea I had been approached about the vacancy as a sales progressor in the sales department and we started working at head office together six months later!

“It's nice to know I will see Amber to say good morning to each week day. We get on really well and share interests outside of work – so there is always plenty to talk about. We enjoy getting together for BBQs and shopping trips.”

Amber (23) added: “It’s great to know I’ll see mum every day, and even though we are too busy to talk to each other during the working day, we try to sit together for half an hour and grab a bite to eat and catch up over lunchtime.”
