Help to Buy is a Government backed scheme available to existing homeowners and first time buyers. It enables you to purchase a new home for up to £600,000, with just 5% deposit and a 20% Government equity loan – a loan that is interest free for the first five years and can be repaid at any time within the first 25 years. A mortgage of just 75% is then required, which makes mortgage payments a lot more affordable.
