Look up ‘five bedroom home for sale in rural Hampshire’ on the internet and the chances are that you will click through five pages of rambling farmhouses and ancient country piles before you find anything below the million pound mark.
Admittedly many of these homes come with acres of parkland, or at least a very generous garden. But what if you don’t want a large garden and you are actively looking for something more manageable? And, even with the smaller homes, as pretty as the thatched cottages are; or as elegant as the Georgian townhouses might be, perhaps you want a home that won’t demand endless expensive repairs, alterations and maintenance
