Linden launches scheme to help homebuyers with energy bills and cost of living

Vistry Group’s Eastern region is offering to pay £6,000 to help its customers with the rising cost of bills if they buy a new property before the end of the year.

Vistry is making the offer on homes being sold under the Linden Homes and Bovis Homes brands at developments across Essex, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk.

Buyers must reserve a home between 1 October and 31 December 2022 to qualify for the scheme, with the payment being made on the completion of their purchase.

Jason Colmer, sales and marketing director for Vistry Eastern, which is based in Chelmsford, said: “The massive rise in energy prices recently has brought the issue of domestic fuel bills to the forefront of many people’s minds. People are also having to deal with the rising cost of living due to inflation.

“As a responsible housebuilding company, we have launched this offer which will give buyers real peace of mind and save them thousands of pounds which they can then use for other purposes within their domestic budget.”

Energy prices rose sharply again at the beginning of October. The annual energy price cap set by regulator Ofgem was set to jump from £1,971 to £3,549 but the Government has introduced the Energy Price Guarantee, which reduces the unit cost of gas and electricity so that a household with typical use will pay on average £2,500 a year for the next two years.

Jason said: “Customers who buy a home built by Vistry do so in the knowledge that they will also benefit from the fact that all of our homes are designed to be energy saving. The modern technology that we fit as standard in every home includes thermally efficient flooring, low-emissive insulation in the walls, ground floor and loft, double-glazed windows and doors and energy-efficient boilers.

“Recent figures showed that modern new-build homes can save the homeowner between £1,377 and £2,062*, on their annual energy bills compared to a Victorian home of a similar size. This is, in effect, a double saving for anyone who decides to buy a new-build home from Vistry and will continue to reduce their energy outgoings over the years ahead.

“What people also get with a new home from Vistry Eastern is the knowledge that it comes with a 10-year National House Building Council guarantee and our own two-year customer service guarantee. There has never been a better time to secure a new-build home with Vistry and I would urge potential purchasers to get in touch with us as soon as they can to take advantage of this offer before 31 December.”
