Linden Homes Fundraising Splits £3,400 Between Two Charities
03 Jun 2015

Two charities shared more than £3,400 raised by Guildford-based Linden Homes from an annual raffle and auction.

The good causes to benefit were The Royal Marsden, a specialist cancer treatment hospital in London, and the Emily Ash Trust, which works to improve the lives of children and young people suffering with cancer.

The money collected from bids and tickets was thanks to some brilliant prizes donated by some of Linden Homes’ suppliers, including a round of golf for four at the famous Belfry course in Warwickshire, courtesy of Jewson.

Windows for Construction contributed a promise to supply and fit a door for the winner of its prize. There was also a bathroom suite auctioned off and other prizes were a host of hampers and drinks.

Speaking on behalf of the Emily Ash Trust, chairman Tim Rolfe, said: “The Emily Ash Trust are delighted to receive this wonderful contribution from Linden Homes.  We are a small charity with a big heart; our primary aim being to help children suffering with cancer and their families in times of great need, during the treatment of cancer, the recovery and those terrible times of sadness and loss.

“All staff work on a voluntary basis with all money that is raised going to support these families.  We are able to do this thanks to our supporters like Linden Homes to whom we are most grateful.”

Susan Whiting, Linden Homes Guildford marketing manager and one of the organisers, said: “The extensive range of donations was overwhelming and we’re so grateful to the contributors and everyone else who got involved to raise such a phenomenal sum.”

Tim Rolfe continued: “Donations are vital to keep our charity going so we organise numerous events which we have coming up throughout the year to raise money and help increase awareness of the charity.”

Emily Ash Trust will be hosting a Mud event on 27th June for the public to get ‘stuck in’ and involved in a military style obstacle course. There is a minimum of £100 sponsorship which must be raised to take part.
