Leading housebuilder Linden Homes, behind developments across Essex and Cambridgeshire, including Saffron View in Saffron Walden, brought some festive cheer to the children on Phoenix children’s Ward at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford this Christmas.
The housebuilder called for staff at its Eastern regional headquarters in Chelmsford to donate gifts for their annual Christmas gift appeal. The gifts were then delivered to the hospital in the hope of brightening up the Christmases of the children that will unfortunately be spending Christmas in hospital.
Lead Play Specialist from the Phoenix Children’s Ward at Mid Essex Hospitals Trust, Sue Hursit, said: “Linden Homes’ gift donation makes such a difference, so we’re over the moon that they were so keen to support Phoenix children’s Ward for the sixth year running.
“Our priority at Broomfield is delivering the best possible care, but it’s imperative that our children’s ward also provides appropriate fun and entertainment in what can otherwise be a very emotional and stressful time for children and their families.”
Robert Church, Managing Director at Linden Homes Eastern, commented: "Linden Homes Eastern is delighted to make this our sixth Christmas gift staff appeal. Every year the children’s faces prove what a fantastic, worthwhile appeal it is for them and their families, facing a difficult Christmas in hospital, whether because of serious illness, injury or medical condition.
"As always, our staff came up trumps with a generous collection of gifts which we hope will put big smiles on the children’s faces when they open them on Christmas Day.”
