Now is the perfect time to reconsider the big move and one leading housebuilder is determined to help.
Linden Homes is holding a homebuyer event at its Royal Barham House development in Truro, where visitors can find out how the company can help them to move.
The event, which will provide information on the Help to Buy scheme and Assisted Move are open to members of the public on Saturday 28th September from 10am to 5pm.
Announced in the 2013 Budget, Help to Buy is a Government backed equity scheme that applies to any new build property up to the value of £600,000. It enables buyers to purchase a new home with just 5% deposit and a 20% Government equity loan – a loan that is interest free for the first five years and can be repaid at any time within the first 25 years. A mortgage of just 75% is then required, which makes mortgage payments a lot more affordable.
Brian Deacon, sales and marketing director of Linden Homes said: “Help to Buy is not just offered to first time buyers but it’s also available to existing homeowners. With Help to Buy and the interest rates as they stand, there has never been a better time to buy a new home. If you’re ready to move, we can help you move, just come along to our homebuyer event to find out more.”
Linden Homes is also offering information about its Assisted Move scheme, where the company can help homebuyers sell their existing home and will pay their estate agents’ fees – perfect for people wanting to downsize.
The event will take place in the show home at Royal Barham House, the refurbishment of the former Royal Cornwall Infirmary. Set in a prime, elevated position on the west side of Infirmary Hill, Cornwall’s first hospital was originally constructed in the late 1790s and served the community for over 200 years, before it finally closed.
The old hospital was left derelict after it shut in 1999 and was in a sad state of disrepair. Its roof was leaking, the roof timbers had rotted, most windows had gone, some stone was badly damaged and urgent work was required to salvage the grand building.
Fast forward 14 years and it’s a very different story. Linden Homes and DCH have breathed new life into the former hospital - transforming the neglected building into 19 beautiful two, three and four bedroom apartments.
Set over five storeys, the homes are elegant in design and have been built to a high specification. Some elevated apartments boast magnificent views out towards Truro cathedral, the viaduct and the fields beyond.
Royal Barham House is simply beautiful, it pays homage to its heritage and the team behind its transformation ensured that as many original features were saved as possible.
There are just seven beautiful two and three bedroom apartments available. For more details visit Royal Barham House, off Corte Spry, Truro, TR1 2GE, call 0844 488 0730 or email royalbarhamhouse@lindenhomes.com.
