Hampshire And Sussex Construction Teams Respond To Appeal For Vital PPE Donations For The NHS

There is a high and increasing demand for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for front-line NHS staff working to save lives as COVID-19 continues to impact the UK. Following an urgent appeal through its own teams and sub-contractor network, housebuilder, Vistry Group, which includes Linden Homes, Bovis Homes and Vistry Partnerships, has donated more than 100 items from its southern region to NHS England.

Among the items donated were critical disposable FFP3 Respirator face masks and other in-demand items like Fluid-Resistant Type IIR Surgical Masks, Coverall Suits Cat3 Type 5/6, and surgical gloves, which are all also used in the construction industry.

The call out to the team and sub-contractors across Hampshire and Sussex was led by Steve Ott, Vistry Group’s Construction Director who was met with huge charity and willingness to help.

Steve said: “When you see the commitment and sacrifice from everyone in the NHS putting their own lives at risk, everyone in my team wanted to do anything possible to help. Face masks are a key piece of kit, but we have also been able to donate both goggles and protective gloves and I’m very pleased to report all have now been delivered to NHS services.”

Vistry Group continues to work closely with the Home Builders Federation in response to the appeal and in helping co-ordinate the delivery from sites across the southern region.
