Former All Arms Physical Training Instructor wins site management award for new homes in Chichester

A former All Arms Physical Training Instructor who swapped military life for the construction industry nine years ago has won his fourth award for the quality of the homes he builds.

Lewis Little, 32, is now project manager for Vistry Group’s Minerva Heights location in Chichester and has been named as the winner of a National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Quality Award.

The award recognises his work building new homes under both the Linden Homes and Bovis Homes brands at the development, off Old Broyle Road. He is one of just 443 UK site managers out of 8,000 across the country to have received the award this year.

Lewis, who lives in Southampton, has now won three Quality Awards as a site manager for Vistry, in 2019, 2021 and 2022, the last two for his work at Minerva Heights. He also won a Seal of Excellence in the competition last year.

He said: “Winning this award is down to the brilliant team we have at Minerva Heights. We all strive for quality and deliver to the highest standards.

“I was ecstatic when I won. This is the second time I have won the award for this particular development, and it feels even better knowing that our work is consistently at the highest standard.”

Lewis has worked in the construction industry for nine years, following an eight-year stint in the Army from the age of 16.

He decided to move into housebuilding to boost his career prospects, being offered a role as an assistant site manager in 2013. He joined Vistry four years later, moving to work at Minerva Heights in 2020.

Dawnet McLaughlin, managing director of Vistry Southern, said: “We commend Lewis’ consistently excellent efforts at Minerva Heights, which have led to him achieving a third Quality Award from the NHBC. His dedication to the job is outstanding, and he thoroughly deserves this honour.

“His Seal of Excellence win last year was also well deserved and we wish him all the best as he now progresses to the next stage of judging in this year’s competition.

“Lewis has done an incredible job at Minerva Heights to ensure the new homes meet the high standards we and our customers expect, and we look forward to celebrating his continued success within Vistry.”

Vistry is building a range of homes at Minerva Heights, with three and four-bedroom houses currently available to reserve under both the Linden Homes and Bovis Homes brands.
