A football team in Stowupland is playing matches in new Linden Homes-sponsored kit thanks to a sponsorship deal with housebuilder Vistry Group.
Vistry is building new homes under the Linden Homes brand at its Oak Farm Meadow location off Acorn Way in the village – and has funded the new kit for the adult reserves team at Stowupland Falcons FC.
The club is based at Stowupland Sports and Social Club off Church Road, just a mile from the new development.
Daniel Lloyd, the club’s PR, commercial and social media manager, said: “It means a huge amount to be sponsored by Vistry. Grassroots clubs like Stowupland Falcons would not be able to operate and exist without the help of kind businesses willing to support the local community.
“With over 20 teams at the club, we are very grateful to every business who is kind enough to support our teams.
“We tend to keep our kits for at least two years, but they are often then handed to another team within the club or donated to charity. A football kit goes through a lot of wear and tear throughout the season so receiving funding to buy new kit is very much appreciated.”
Stowupland Falcons FC has teams ranging from under-sevens to adults, as well as teams for girls and women.
Dan said: “We also host one of the biggest annual five-a-side tournaments in the area. The club has won many honours for various age groups. Most recently, our under-14s and 15s both won their respective leagues last season. Our first team has also won the Suffolk Junior Cup for two years on the bounce.”
