First New Baby At Orestone View
04 Jul 2014

A couple at Linden Homes’ Orestone View development in Goodrington have started life in their new home with the arrival of a new baby, who is now officially the youngest resident at the development!

Felix Goggins was born to parents Amy Balcombe and Luke Goggins on 20th March at Torbay Hospital. He is their first baby and weighed eight pounds and four ounces.

Amy is currently on maternity leave from her job as a retail and beauty manager at Fab in Totnes and Luke works at South Devon College in IT support and as a lecturer in Sports Psychology.

First time buyers Amy and Luke, both 28, moved into their new three bedroom house in December thanks to the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.

Amy said: “We are so pleased that we managed to move in time for Felix’s arrival. We just assumed that we wouldn’t be able to raise enough deposit or afford the monthly mortgage payments required to buy our own home. We’re amazed that we pay the same for a three bedroom house with Help to Buy as we did for renting a two bedroom flat in Goodrington.

“We are so happy in our new home, the quality is just fantastic, we love that everything is brand new – where no-one has used the oven and bath before.

“We have managed to buy a house, that’s in Goodrington, easy to afford and close to my family - it really seems like fate.

“It’s certainly been a busy few months for us and we’re so excited that Felix has arrived and we’re all settled in our new nest!”

Linden Homes is creating 100 contemporary homes at Orestone View in Goodrington, Paignton. Featuring a range of two bedroom coach houses, plus two, three and four bedroom homes in a traditional seaside setting, the development will be built to a high specification with views of the Ore Stone in the bay.

Brian Deacon, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes said: “The development is well situated in Goodrington, there are three beaches, a park and boating lake, local shops, leisure facilities, two primary schools and even a station on the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway – so it’s the perfect place to raise a family.

“We’re delighted that Amy and Luke managed to get on the housing ladder in time for the birth of their new baby - brand new house, brand new baby!”

Designed to assist first time buyers and existing homeowners, Help to Buy is a Government backed equity scheme that applies to any new build property up to the value of £600,000. It enables homebuyers to purchase a new home with just 5% deposit and a 20% Government equity loan.

To clarify the Help to Buy process Linden Homes has created a new step-by-step animation which gives a simple overview of the scheme.
