Pupils and their parents enjoyed a fun-filled family day out as Deeping St James Community Primary School hosted its annual summer fair.
Fairground rides and inflatables, an ice cream van and a Korean martial arts performance were among the many attractions at the event on Sunday 3 July.
Several companies and local volunteers contributed to the summer fair, including housebuilder Vistry Group which donated £100 for the top raffle prize. The company is building new homes under its Linden Homes brand at the Springfields location off Linchfield Road.
Becky Barrett, chair of the school’s parent-teacher association, said: “It was a such a memorable day for everyone who attended the summer fair, and it was great to see that we have made a good impression on new starters.
“We knew we wanted to host a big summer raffle, so we reached out to local companies for support and the response has been delightful. We would like to say a big thank you to the businesses that contributed to the event.
“The £100 donation from Vistry and the many other prizes donated by local business for the raffle helped us to put on such an entertaining day for all the children.”
It is the third time Vistry has supported the school, having previously donated £100 to the school’s Christmas raffle and contributed £500 towards the installation of a defibrillator.
Weronika Maslak, sales manager for Springfields, said: “We have established an extremely strong relationship with Deeping St James Community Primary School during the time we have been building in the village. The school plays an active role in bringing the local community together and the summer fair was just the latest example of this.
“It was a pleasure to support the school again and we hope that everyone who attended the summer fair had an enjoyable day in the sunshine.”
