With feet now firmly on the ground, Linden Homes East Yorkshire’s Vanessa Allison has added the most daring fund-raising challenge to her list of charity stunts.
The adventurous sales executive has taken part in sponsored walks, fundraising cycle rides and has even run through several miles of bubbles to boost charity coffers.
However, Vanessa’s fund raising antics recently took her to new heights, when she took part in a sky dive to raise money for a cause very close to the Allison family’s heart – Diabetes UK.
Vanessa, who is based at the Woodland Croft development in Hessle, said: My youngest son Toby was just 16 months old when he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. He is now eight, and every day he amazes us with his bravery.
“Myself and Toby's older brothers Ashley and Bradley decided to do a skydive to raise money and awareness for this great cause.”
The intrepid trio took off into the Cambridgeshire skies from the Sibson Airfield to jump the several thousand feet from a plane.
Vanessa said: “It was an amazing and truly exhilarating experience and my huge thanks to everyone who supported us. It is something I would love to do again – and it could turn into an expensive hobby!”
Vanessa and ‘Toby’s Troopers’ have already exceeded their £300 target, and there is still an opportunity to support the cause at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/vanessa-allison?utm_source=Sharethis&utm_medium=fundraisingpage&utm_content=Vanessa-Allison&utm_campaign=pfp-email
