Builders Complete Three Peaks Challenge For Mental Health Charity
14 Oct 2019

Linden Homes’ site manager, Allan Britton and forklift driver, Jason Clark raised over £1,300 for The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) by taking part in the national three peak 24 hour challenge.

Climbing over 3,400 feet, the duo trekked up Snowdon in Wales, Scafell Pike in England and Ben Nevis in Scotland in 23 hours and 45 minutes, with 15 minutes still to go!

Mike Crawford, production director at Linden Homes, said: “We are incredibly proud of Allan and Jason for accomplishing this amazing task. They’ve worked hard in preparation and we’re delighted they manage to complete the three peaks challenge for such a fantastic cause.”

Allan and Jason are both building the new Sandrock development in Exeter. Allan commented: “Hearing that 84 men commit suicide each week in the UK really made us stop and think. We wanted to do something to help raise money for CALM, while encouraging our site team to talk and help each other.”

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. The charity provides a free and anonymous helpline (0800 585858) and webchat (5pm-12am daily) staffed by trained professionals.
