Hard work and a fantastic team have helped a Linden Homes site manager working on new homes at Peters Village in Wouldham win a prestigious award.
Valentyn Samchuk, who oversees homebuilding at Linden Homes’ Bridgeside Walk location, has won a Seal of Excellence Award in the National House Building Council’s (NHBC) Pride in the Job competition.
The NHBC has run the competition for more than 40 years and as part of the judging, site managers across the country are inspected on a range of areas including attention to detail, leadership, technical expertise and health and safety.
More than 8,000 site managers across the UK were inspected this year and of those, 444 – including Valentyn – won the first stage, known as the Quality Award.
From there Valentyn was considered for the next stage, and he was successful, winning the Seal of Excellence Award. Winning this award, means Valentyn in in the top nine site managers for the South East region.
Valentyn, who lives in Sutton in South London, and has worked in the construction industry for 25 years, said: “It is a great career benchmark to achieve. I am delighted to be one of the best site managers in the country and I’m proud to share this win with my site team.
“Our success is down to hard work, passion, guidance from my line managers and the NHBC, and the fantastic team at Bridgeside Walk.”
This is the second year Valentyn has won an NHBC award, having also gained a Quality Award in 2020 at Bovis Homes’ The Maples location in Ifield, Crawley. Linden Homes and Bovis Homes, which Valentyn joined nearly 10 years ago, are both part of Vistry Group.
Linden Homes is building 142 homes at Bridgeside Walk. The site is off Village Road, on the banks of the River Medway, opposite Peters Bridge. The properties will include one and two-bedroom apartments as well as two, three, and four-bedroom houses. There will be 113 homes for private sale and 29 affordable homes for low-cost rent or shared ownership.
