Bringing St Michael's Back To The Heart Of The Community
05 Mar 2013

At first sight, little has changed at St Michael’s. As you turn down the long, tree lined drive, past the expansive lawn of the green, you see at the end of the road the beautiful old Sacred Heart Church building.

It is just as visitors would have seen it fifty years ago when the convent, with its thriving community, kitchen gardens and central community role, was at its peak.

St Michael’s Convent was built in 1885 and, over the years, became established as a focal point for the local community. Its beautiful grounds played host to summer fetes and other events.

Today, Linden Homes is transforming the old Convent building and is bringing it back to play a central role again in this Hampshire town.

Linden Homes has just officially launched the development as St Michael’s Place. The new marketing suite is open in the grounds – complete with a model of the future homes and apartments that will be available.

Although the first homes are not yet finished, it is possible to register your interest in St Michael’s Place and it is also possible, even at this early stage, to buy the homes off plan.

Once the development is finished, St Michael’s Place will consist of new three and four bedroom houses, new one and two bedroom apartments and a collection of seventeen carefully refurbished one, two and three bedroom apartments.

The tranquil and spacious grounds of this Victorian grade II listed former convent – which extend at the back down to the Hermitage stream, will be carefully landscaped. 85 new trees are to be planted along the borders. The old Sacred Heart Church is also being retained at the centre of the development and it’s expected this lovely old former church will be converted for community use.

Because of the serene atmosphere and sense of space, it is easy to forget that you are actually within walking distance of Waterlooville town centre, with its shops, services and cafes.

Mark Docherty, sales and marketing director said: “St Michael’s Place offers a wonderful mix of old and new. The location will undoubtedly make our new development a really popular choice for all ages, building a strong community for those who find their dream home here. Those who choose to buy off plan will also benefit from tailoring their new home to suit their exact tastes, to ultimately create a truly unique home of their own.”

There are a number of schemes available to help buying at St Michael’s Place, possible. For instance, it could be that you’re interested in a new home at this development, but view your existing home as a barrier to a smooth move. The Linden Homes Part Exchange Scheme is designed to relieve that pressure and take the responsibility of selling your home for you.

Under the scheme, Linden Homes will have your old property valued and make you an offer for it so you can go ahead and buy your new Linden Home.

The marketing suite at St Michael’s Place is now open every day from 10am until 5pm (4pm on Fridays).

Come and pick up a brochure and have a glimpse at the future of this beautiful old building and its grounds. For more details of the homes available you can call 0845 266 5276.
