Residential proposals at a glance

Our proposals for new homes at School Road Arborfield provides an opportunity to deliver new homes in a well-designed addition to the current community. We are proposing that 40% of the homes built will be managed by a Housing Association for shared ownership or rent which will allow young people and families the chance to step onto the housing ladder.

The proposed buildings will be predominately two storey, with the occasional 2.5 storey to provide variation and interest. The development will also adhere to the councils parking standards.

Wider benefits for Arborfield

A key part of our vision for School Road is providing a pick up / drop off car park for The Coombes School, which currently has no dedicated parking area leading to congestion in local roads. We will also create new public green space which will be available for all Arborfield residents.

We will seek to retain trees and mature hedgerows on site wherever possible and will create new planting areas in addition to species rich grassland, which will contribute to the natural environment.

Key features of the scheme

  • A safe pick up / drop off car park for The Coombes School, helping to eliminate congestion at school collection time and improving pedestrian safety;
  • 40% affordable housing managed by a Housing Association, helping people on to the property ladder;
  • New public open green space;
  • New species rich grassland providing new habitats for local wildlife.

The Team

Linden Homes is the country’s fifth largest housebuilder. We are the housebuilding division of Galliford Try, one of the UK’s leading construction companies.

Linden Homes Thames Valley’s office is based in Milton Park near Didcot and is one of 11 regional offices that operate right across England, from Cornwall to Northumberland.

With a reputation for bespoke and creative developments in prime locations, Linden Homes prides itself on its high quality of design. Linden Homes was named Best Sustainable Developer at the Housebuilder Awards 2014 and Housebuilder of the Year at the Ideal Home Blue Ribbon Awards 2014 and 2013.

Engaging with local communities is central to the work that we do. We understand that if we are to deliver houses that not only meet the aspirations of those who seek to live in them but also enhance the existing neighbourhood, then we need to talk to and engage with local people.

By seeking out local knowledge and listening to local opinion, we are able to build a fuller picture. We can identify the wider benefits that development can bring to the existing community.

Linden Homes is proud to be part of the Considerate Constructors’ scheme and works hard with local communities throughout the construction process.
