Both East and South Cambridgeshire have been placed in the top 10 rural places to live in the UK. It's no wonder why, as this county has both brains and beauty and good transport links as well.

Geography
The county's town, Cambridge, is well known, most notably for its university, but also for its canal network and quaint cobbled streets. There are plenty of postcard-perfect towns and villages such as Ely, March, Littleport and Huntingdon. The Fens, large low-lying marshes, cover much of the county and are dotted with windmills, cycle and tow-paths.

Economy, business and employment
The Silicon Fen is a cluster – one of the biggest in Europe – of high-tech businesses specialising in software, electronics and biotechnology. The region receives a quarter of the UK's venture capital and local support for small, independent businesses is strong. Job opportunities in these sectors and those supporting them are numerous.

Education
Even aside from the world-class institution of The University of Cambridge, education in the county is first class. There are around 300 state schools and colleges and 12 high-achieving independent schools to choose from.

Transport
Excellent train connections transport you to London in less than an hour and the M11 is the main motorway serving the county into the capital.
