Families got the chance to try out new activities at a community play day hosted at the Linden Homes Cholsey Meadows development in Fairmile, Oxfordshire this summer.
The games on August 13th included a “go kart party”, tricky trails biking, bouldering wall, drumming workshop, den making, graffiti wall, music and dance – and much more.
The day was organised by the Oxfordshire Play Association and sponsored by organisations including Linden Homes who donated £500 to the event. It was free for families to attend with the aim of showcasing activities to both children and parents to spark fresh enthusiasm or tempt some back to hobbies they had drifted away from. It was also a good way for new residents to get to know one another and find out more about local clubs and activities.
Martin Gillett from Oxfordshire Play Association said: “The event was a great success; families enjoyed the huge range of activities on offer, all available with free entrance and at no cost, thanks to generous donations from supporters like Linden Homes. The event was seen as a great way to integrate both the old and new Cholsey Communities.”
Another way that Linden Homes Chiltern is keeping local children active during the summer is the new play area that has recently been installed at Cholsey Meadows.
