We were celebrating more silverware after being named Sustainable Developer of the Year at the What House? Awards.
Winning gold, we were praised not only for our environmental efforts around the country but also our hard work to bring social benefits to the wider communities where we build.
In fact, the judges lifted us up as the only entrant to “demonstrate a clear understanding of company-wide sustainability policies and goals or how they may be implemented”.
They commented: “Sustainability is about more than solar panels, airtightness and insulation – it is a way of thinking. Linden Homes understands this and, through a systematic approach, is doing everything it can to ensure sustainable thinking permeates every level of its business and every action it takes.”
We also picked up an award in the Best Renovation category for our sensitive refurbishment of Ashlar Court, in Hammersmith – a Grade II listed former nurses’ quarters.
Linden Homes Group Managing Director Andrew Richards said: “We understand that people want to move into communities not just homes, so we put environmental and social sustainability at the heart of everything we do as a housebuilder.
“It’s very encouraging that our strong focus has been recognised by the industry and shown to be market leading. This result adds to other accolades we have won for sustainability and will give even greater confidence to our customers.”
Our insulation process includes blowing insulation into cavity walls, which means our homes are better insulated because there are less air gaps.
The boilers heating our houses are some of the most efficient available, saving you money and minimising CO2 emissions.
