Youngsters playing for Staines-based Spelthorne Sports Football Club will be running out in a brand new strip next season thanks to £300 sponsorship from our Guildford region.

The donation paid for a full set of kit for the Under-8s Skys team, ahead of the 2013-14 season when they become the Under-9s Skys.

Under-8s Skys manager Dale Webb said: “We are proud to be associated with Linden Homes and are very grateful for their interest and support in our football team.

“We run our club on a voluntary basis and as such sponsorship is a welcome boost. The Under-8s Skys team are now well equipped for the new season.”

Spelthorne Sports Club has provided sporting opportunities for the local community since 1922. The club’s football section prides itself on coaching football to all ages and abilities.

Linden Homes Guildford managing director Peter Youll said: “Spelthorne Sports Football Club does an amazing job, giving youngsters a chance to exercise, learn new skills and work as a team.

“We’re delighted to be supporting the Under-8s Skys team with a brand new set of kit. It’s important to us to go beyond delivering quality homes and to honour our pledge to invest in the community too.”
