Skydive daredevil raises a grand charity total

High life: Clare Phillips plunged at 120mph to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust

High life: Clare Phillips plunged at 120mph to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust

One of our team has fearlessly thrown herself out of a plane to raise more than £1,000 for charity.

Clare Phillips, our national marketing manager, braved a tandem skydive on Sunday September 28th to collect cash for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. She smashed her £600 target by more than £400.

She waited while the plane climbed up to 13,000 feet before leaping out and parachuting to the ground. Friends, family and colleagues all contributed to the funding, which will support the trust’s work with families of those suffering cystic fibrosis.

Clare, who hopes to do a solo jump next, said: “The jump itself was truly exhilarating, but the really breathtaking moment was when I found out just how much money people had donated to the charity on my behalf.

“People thought I was having a moment of madness, however, as I enjoyed the experience so much, I’m already looking for my next challenge!”

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK charity that works with the families of the 10,000 people suffering from the hereditary disease, while also working for a cure.
