Cramlington Rockets’ new season is taking off in style thanks to new kit donated by our parent company, construction specialist Galliford Try.
The fresh outfits will ease the running costs of the Rockets, the most northerly rugby league junior set-up in England, and help it continue to inspire and engage young people in Northumberland.
Jeffrey Ball, under-12s head coach, said: “It is fantastic that Galliford Try has supplied us with a new kit. The money saved will help to keep us training and will go towards supporting club activities.
“Cramlington Rockets is as much about developing rounded individuals as it is producing good rugby players and we hold a number of events and trips throughout the year to give our young people experiences that they might not ordinarily have the opportunity to enjoy.”
The club was established in 2000 as Killingworth Rockets, but relocation and a name change came in 2009 in response to a huge demand for rugby league in the area.
Foster Innes, operations director at Galliford Try, said: “We know how much pride the young players at Cramlington Rockets take in wearing the shirt and we are delighted to support that.
“Like the club, we are working in Northumberland to help build communities – though in our case through construction of new homes and facilities.”
