Our Chiltern region welcomed school children, students and the public when we opened the doors to our Wilshere Park development in Welwyn Village, Hertfordshire.
The event was part of the Open Doors initiative launched by the construction industry to show the diverse range of career opportunities that the sector has to offer.
The young visitors heard from Shawn Moore, one of the onsite experts, and were invited to join in a question and answer session with other specialists. Councillor Mandy Perkins and Councillor Sandra Kyriakides were also there to support the event.
Justine Marcham, teacher from Onslow St Audrey’s School, said: “It has been very interesting hearing from the Linden Homes team on site who have provided our students with a positive insight in to working in the construction industry and the career doors that can be opened. The students have come away inspired, with some considering careers in the industry.
Adrian Simms, managing director for Linden Homes’ Chiltern, added: “We hope the Open Doors event has shown young people what a company like Linden Homes is all about – and shed light on the various professions that are involved.”
Open Doors is the result of a partnership of four leading industry bodies, UK Construction Group, CITB-Construction Skills, the Considerate Constructors Scheme, Construction News and the Chartered Institute of Building.
Wherever possible the appliances fitted in our homes are ‘A Rated’ or higher for energy performance.
Linden Homes has won awards for Best Sustainable Developer four years in a row.
