The seeds that will grow into a beautiful neighbourhood garden were scattered by residents to mark its launch at our new Graylingwell Park development in Chichester.
We have partnered the Chichester Community Development Trust, which was set up and funded as part of the housing scheme to manage the new green space, organise activities and encourage a low-carbon lifestyle.
Twenty-five homes have already signed up to get involved, and there has also been support from Surrey Police and Chichester District Council.
The ribbon was cut by Linden Homes land director Kevin Mackenzie and garden member Steve Porter, before green-fingered enthusiasts brushed off the rain to get to work planting flowers and digging in vegetables.
Linden Homes Guildford managing director Peter Youll said: “Green spaces are vital for sustainable communities and this wonderful example will not only provide colour, produce and fun, but will also be where residents mix and new friendships are made.
“Linden Homes is determined to show the way in developing strong neighbourhoods and giving people the chance to shape their own environment. Months of planning have really paid off here and I can’t wait to see the results literally blossom.”
Linden Homes has contributed over £47.7 million to education throughout the UK since 2010.
All of our toilets have a modern dual flush facility to conserve water usage.
