Show time: the cast of ExAct ‘s sold-out ‘Ali-addin’ pantomime in Exminster, Devon
There were full houses for every showing of a pantomime performed by an Exminster amateur dramatics group with support from our South West region.
ExAct sold out every one of the 150 tickets available for each of its five shows of ‘Ali-addin’ at the Victory Hall. Penned by Abigail Callaghan, the show received glowing reviews and huge applause each night.
The cheers grew even louder when the props co-ordinator, Kym Cornelius, agreed to marry lighting director Garry Dodds after he dropped to one knee in front of the audience and projected “will you marry me” onto the stage.
Nigel Walters from ExAct said: “We were so grateful for Linden Homes’ support. We’re a small company and so we really rely on good audience numbers and donations.
“We always try to make local references in our performances and we hand painted a Linden Homes ‘for sale’ board on our scenery which lots of people commented on.”
Exminster is home to our Milbury Reach development, where some of the cast live. Linden Homes senior sales executive Dana Schell gave the show her own rave review: “The pantomime was amazing, it was so entertaining and everyone really enjoyed it.”
