The Deputy Mayor and pupils from Totnes St John’s Primary School have officially opened a second footpath that links the new homes at Camomile Lawn with Parkers Close in the town.
Linden Homes has created two paths as part of its Camomile Lawn development in Totnes; the first was opened at the beginning of the year connecting Home Reach Avenue with Steamer Quay and these routes will provide important links for the local community, enabling quick, easy travel by foot or bike.
"The weather was perfect for the launch of the second footpath that Linden Homes has provided from Camomile Lawn to the river and town," said the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Judy Westacott MBE. "The children from Totnes St John's Primary School walked all the way down it and then back up for drinks, fruit and cakes - they loved every minute of it. Footpaths, wherever they are, provide a healthy route for walkers and wheelchair users of all ages so thank you Linden Homes."
The Deputy Mayor cut a ribbon to open the new path before the walk took place. Lisa Baumback, a teacher from Totnes St John’s Primary School, accompanied the pupils and said: “The school council was delighted to help officially open the new path and the children were very excited to visit Camomile Lawn and meet the Deputy Mayor.”
“Not only will the new path enable residents to walk to school and the town centre more easily but it also provides more routes for the whole community,” commented Brian Deacon, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes. “There are some stunning views from Home Reach Avenue and the walk down to Steamer Quay and Parkers Close, which include Totnes Castle and the River Dart.
“The new paths have been extremely well received by our residents, who are already taking advantage of these fantastic links.”
Linden Homes is creating a beautiful collection of three and four bedroom homes locally at Camomile Lawn.
