Open: (l-r) Kelly Glover, Linden Homes’ Andrew Reynolds, Sandra Glover and Rev. Juliet Montague
Our Southern region displayed its community spirit when it contributed nearly £3,000 towards a new school garden for pupils in Hampshire.
We provided the funding for a bright green sward of hardy artificial grass for the new feature at Waltham Chase Pre-School, which adjoins the local village hall.
The garden was officially opened on Wednesday April 29th by Reverend Juliet Montague who was joined by staff and children as well as representatives of all the local organisations and businesses which also chipped in.
Another major contributor of this project is Trust 2000, a small grant-giving charity started by Reverend Morrell and a small group of local parishioners in 2000.
Sponsorship coordinator Sandra Glover, from Waltham Chase Pre-School, said: “We are so grateful for the kind donations we’ve received and for all the hard work that’s been done to create this great space. The children will really enjoy playing out here in the fresh air – in a safe, fun garden that is theirs.”
Brendon O’Neill, Linden Homes Southern’s managing director, added: “It has been wonderful to watch this project evolve and witness how well the community of Waltham Chase has come together.”
