Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service has recently introduced a new scheme called ‘Move Safely’ for local residents who were in the midst of moving home. The scheme is designed to ensure their homes are fitted with a working smoke detector.
The Borehamwood Fire Station invited local people down to the station and explained that there is an increased risk of fire in the first 24-48 hours in a new property.
Our Chiltern region lent a hand to the event by sending down company mascot, Lenny Linden who helped explain that all the new properties on the nearby Empire Court development were fitted with smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
The fire safety officers answered any questions and people were also able to book a home fire safety visit.
