Two local groups in Bath received a funding boost thanks to a national competition we ran alongside a charity sports campaign.
Bath City Community Foundation and Bath City Youth were selected by 22-year-old Daniel Tanner after he won the right to nominate them to share £1,000 as part of the Kit Up Kit Out initiative.
The project was run in partnership with the Kits4Causes appeal and invited people across Britain to donate old sports gear to support disadvantaged youngsters in the UK and around the world.
Daniel, of Twerton, Bath, was selected after donating an impressive 300 football shirts among the hundreds that were dropped off to Linden Homes sites from Cornwall in the south-west to Northumberland in the north east.
Daniel said: “I was delighted to win the Linden Homes competition and be able to make a donation towards two causes very close to my heart. It’s great to see such reputable causes in the area see the benefit and I am sure the monies will be put to excellent use!”
Linden Homes Western managing director Clive Wiltshire said: “The kits that Daniel donated have already been put to good use by the Kits4Causes appeal, but it’s super that the money is being put to such good use by these local causes.”
