Housing minister Mark Prisk hailed our award-winning Newhall:Be development near Harlow as a “shining example” for others to follow.
The senior MP was shown around the contemporary apartments and houses by Linden Homes group managing director Andrew Richards, group technical director Graham Hutton, Eastern region managing director Adrian Bohr and the scheme’s talented architects.
Mr Prisk said: “I’m determined we take every possible step to get Britain building, and what I’ve seen at Newhall:Be is a shining example of what can be achieved, using innovative building techniques to do exactly that.
“I would urge other developers to work together to make the most of the innovations I’ve seen here, like off-site manufacturing techniques to build quickly, efficiently and to a high standard of design.”
Newhall:Be was recently nominated for the prestigious Stirling Prize and was also supreme winner at the Housing Design Awards.
Mr Richards said: “It was a pleasure to show the minister around one of our flagship developments so he could also see first-hand the benefits housebuilding has brought the area in terms of jobs, homes, innovation and investment."
During his visit Mr Prisk also met Harlow Council chief executive Malcolm Morley and a Linden Homes buyer, Iris Meijer, who gave him a tour of her home.
