Visit: housing minister Kris Hopkins (third left) is joined by VIPs and our development partners

We welcomed the housing minister and a local MP on a guided tour around one of our developments in Newton Abbot,Devon.

Housing minister Kris Hopkins and local MP Anne Marie Morris joined a group of VIPs to see Webster Place, a contemporary collection of two, three and four-bedroom homes close to the town centre. They also visited Mapleton Place, an LABC award-winning conversion of the original maternity wards at the former Newton Abbot Hospital.

Together with Teignbridge district councillor Philip Vogel, they were greeted by Tony Lane, commercial director for Galliford Try Partnerships (SW).

Also on hand to meet the visitors were David Luke from our joint venture partners on the development, Aster Homes; and also Jo Reece, deputy chief executive of Teign Housing and Adam Davis, head of land and planning at Linden Homes.

The group was extremely impressed with the standard of the homes, which are proving extremely popular and is available under the government-backed Help to Buy scheme which can give a hand up to people with deposits as low as five per cent.

Galliford Try Partnerships regional sales and marketing manager Sharon Holder said: “It was a pleasure to show the minister around Webster Place and it was very encouraging too to have such local interest in what we are doing from Anne Marie Morris MP and Cllr Vogel.

“At Galliford Try Partnerships we think getting involved in the community is a priority and visits like this help us talk about our activities and hear the thoughts of local representatives.”
