Pupils from St Peter’s Catholic School, in Merrow, visited our Guildford office to discover the ways to forge a career in construction.
The Year 10 students found out about the vast range of projects delivered by Linden Homes and our parent company, Galliford Try: from high quality homes to the famous retractable roof on the Centre Court at Wimbledon.
Kevin MacKenzie, Linden Homes Guildford land director, explained: “Each of these projects needs a diverse range of staff to ensure it is delivered to the highest of standards. We need men and women to fill these roles and our training and graduate schemes are a great way to get into the sector.”
As well as learning about various careers in the industry and the training schemes available through Galliford Try, the children also got involved in a fun-filled creative task, where they had the chance to design their own profitable development.
Teacher Ann McKee added: “The clarity of the presentation on the wide range of opportunities within the Galliford Try and Linden Homes companies showed the students that there was more to construction than bricks and mortar.”
Over £133m has been committed by Linden Homes to improving local communities since 2010.
All of our toilets have a modern dual flush facility to conserve water usage.
