We won warm praise at the national Housebuilder Awards 2015 for our low carbon Home @ Heartlands development in Redruth, Cornwall.
The innovative collection of homes was “highly commended” in the category of Best Low or Zero Carbon Initiative. The result was announced at a glamorous black tie evening event on Thursday November 5th at the Tower Hotel, London.
Home @ Heartlands comprises 133 energy efficient and eco-friendly homes for local people, plus 518 square metres of commercial space. It makes good use of a former brownfield site left largely untouched following the demise of the 17th century tin mining industry.
Measures to cut carbon and residents’ energy bills at Home @ Heartlands include increased levels of insulation and triple glazed windows, a high efficiency boiler with pre-heated water supply, photovoltaic panels and smart metering and energy display devices.
Andrew Richards, Linden Homes Group Managing Director, said: “Home @ Heartlands is a prime example of how we take the low carbon agenda seriously by going above and beyond what is required. We’re very proud to be highly commended for our efforts.”
We were also shortlisted in the Best Community Initiative category for our White Rock development in Paignton, Devon.
Linden Homes has contributed over £12.8 million towards outdoor open areas throughout the UK since 2010.
